At Building Bold, we take a mindful approach to empowering students so they excel in the classroom and beyond. We are on a mission to support students in assembling college applications that celebrate visionary leaders who are ready to change the paradigm.
The college admissions landscape is becoming more holistic. Universities are placing less value on standardized test scores in favor of admitting students who are dynamic “thinkers and doers.” That’s where we come in. At Building Bold, storytelling is part of our DNA. We meet students where they are in their educational journey, and provide them with a unique mentorship plan that will propel them forward in crafting their unique story.

Nikki Weiner
Founder & Managing Member
Nikki Weiner blends her experience as an educator, college admissions coach, and professional writer to support students and their families as they navigate the college admissions process. She earned a B.A. in Chinese and East Asian Cultures with a concentration in Creative Writing from Barnard College, Columbia University. During her time at Columbia, Nikki was selected to participate in Middlebury College’s prestigious Language School in China.
Through working as an Educational Consultant for three companies, Nikki has devoted her career to exploring every facet of the higher education landscape. Furthermore, her experience coaching students in both the American and Chinese pedagogical system for nearly a decade uniquely positions Nikki to accommodate students from diverse backgrounds as they face the challenges of applying to college.
Over the course of her career, Nikki has successfully designed and instructed a comprehensive workshop series on the college application process for a college preparatory program. Through this series, she helped students gain acceptance to top-tier schools. Additionally, she brought her high-level of energy and passion to oversee a team of 10 writing specialists to coach students in writing their personal narrative essays. Finally, Nikki has served as a guest speaker in the U.S. and abroad to share her expertise on writing and the college admissions landscape.
Nikki’s holistic approach is student-centered and provides a safe space for students to share their unique stories throughout the application process. To this end, she draws from her extensive experience helping students build their executive functioning skills. These skills include time management, study strategies, and organizing coursework. Nikki's ultimate goal is to provide students with the tools to thrive through the admission process and beyond to reach their full potential.
As an active member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), Nikki is always aware of information impacting the ever-changing college admissions landscape.
